Coronavirus Signage and guidelines

By | Latest News | No Comments

The government has set out its plan to return life to as near normal as we can, for as many people as we can, as quickly and fairly as possible in order to safeguard livelihoods, but in a way that continues to protect our communities and our NHS.

Coronavirus guidelines

There are currently 14 guides cover a range of different types of work. Many businesses operate more than one type of workplace, such as an office, factory and fleet of vehicles. You may need to use more than one of these guides as you think through what you need to do to keep people safe. Further guidance will be published as more businesses are able to reopen.

Coronavirus signage

When it comes to adhereing to the guidelines and reminding customers, coronavirus signage will help with this.

Hand sanitizing Stations

These include hand sanitizers stand and signs, this is because guidelines are encouraging people to follow the guidance on hand washing and hygiene. In addition, you will need to provide hand sanitiser around the workplace, in addition to washrooms,

2m Social distancing

Where possible, you should maintain 2m between people by:

  • putting up signs to remind workers and visitors of social distancing guidance
  • using floor tape or paint to mark areas to help people keep to a 2m distance
  • arranging one-way traffic through the workplace if possible
  • switching to seeing visitors by appointment only if possible

Coronavirus signage for 2m distancing can be achieved by using floor graphics and wall graphics.

Desk Dividers

Desk dividers will allow staff to sit next to one another with protection. One government guideline states, ‘avoid sharing workstations’. Desk dividers will allow virus protection.

Where people cannot be 2m apart, manage transmission risk

Where it’s not possible for people to be 2m apart, you should do everything practical to manage the transmission risk by:

  • considering whether an activity needs to continue for the business to operate
  • keeping the activity time involved as short as possible
  • using screens or barriers to separate people from each other
  • using back-to-back or side-to-side working whenever possible
  • staggering arrival and departure times
  • reducing the number of people each person has contact with by using ‘fixed teams or partnering’
